PLATELET RICH FIBRIN

PRF is a revolutionary advancement from traditional PRP, it contains a much higher concentration of growth factors, (10x the amount!), leukocytes and mesechymal stem cells. The rich concentration of these properties are powerful for healing, treating the signs of aging, improving skin quality, dark under eye circles and fine lines. PRF contains a fibrin matrix which acts as a scaffold and is effective in treating under eye hollowing and deeper wrinkles. It is recommended to do 3-4 treatments of PRF 4-6 weeks apart for optimal results. This treatment has minimal downtime, is safe and 100% natural.

PRF VS PRP

PRF has 10x the growth factors compared to traditional PRP

PRF spins at a much lower speed and for less time compared to PRP. PRP is spun fast, it pushes the red blood cells to the bottom of the tube, at the same time it pushes all the platelets and growth factors to the bottom of the tube as well so only the bottom 1/3 of the plasma is concentrated with growth factors and the rest is platelet poor plasma (water). With PRF the platelet recovery is nearly 100% due to the lower spin speed and time making this far more richer in growth factors which is important for regeneration of new cells and healing

Release of growth factors over a longer period compared to PRP

PRF releases growth factors steadily over a period of up to 10 days whereas PRP releases growth factors over a 24 hour period. This rapid release of growth factors has early healing benefits without long term improvement. PRF has an overall higher release of growth factors due to the slow and steady release

Completely natural

While most market PRP as being completely natural because it comes from your own blood, the tubes actually contain anticoagulants to prevent clotting so it actually is not as natural as we all are told! PRF tubes contain no additives or anticoagulants, it is completely autologous which makes it 100% natural and less risk of a reaction

Growth factors play a key roll in cell turnover, strengthening the skins barrier, stimulating collagen, improving hydration and skin quality

The centrifuge matters

You may ask your provider to change the settings on the centrifuge to produce PRF- this is not possible. The centrifuge is vital when it comes to PRF and I recommend only going to a provider that has a centrifuge specifically made and studied for PRF.

If the centrifuge is not backed by literature, no one has tested the actual concentration of growth factors, platelets and cells in the fibrin, therefore you may not see any results.

What to expect at your PRF appointment

We do a blood draw and then spin the tube with the blood in the centrifuge. After the spin cycle is completed, we will extract the highly concentrated PRF from the tube and inject it in the area of concern
Expect to have swelling if treating the underyes for 2-3 days. You could also experience a small pinpoint bruise at injection site
Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours, extreme temperatures, avoid touching or rubbing the area.
Recommend 3-4 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart
